Labor lawsuits hit record levels, and the rise in cases reinforces the importance of prevention for companies

The number of new labor lawsuits increased by 8.47% between 2024 and 2025, reaching a new record since the 2017 labor reform. In 2025, the judiciary received 2.321 million new cases, compared to 2.134 million in 2024, according to data extracted from the statistical system of the Superior Labor Court (TST).

This increase shows that the labor environment continues to demand attention from companies, especially regarding how internal routines, employee relations, and people management decisions are handled. Rather than merely reacting to disputes that have already arisen, the current scenario reinforces the need for a preventive and advisory approach, capable of reducing operational failures and minimizing the creation of liabilities.

Periodic review of internal practices, proper application of labor legislation, and ongoing legal monitoring contribute to safer decision-making and more transparent working relationships. In a context of increasing litigation, prevention is becoming an important tool for business protection, risk reduction, and strengthening corporate sustainability.
